Registration of madrassas across Pakistan to begin on Oct 5

Offices have been set up in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad for registration of madrassas or religious schools with the Federal Ministry of Education.
The registration process will begin from October 5 and madrassas will be registered as per the agreement between the government and the alliance of madrassas on merger of madrassas with the Federal Ministry of Education.
Registration centres have been set up in 133 districts, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Muzaffarabad and Gilgit Baltistan. Communication officers at provincial and district levels are assigned to supervise the registration process.
According to sources, communication officers have been deployed in 35 district of Punjab, 24 districts of Sindh and 31 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. As many as 25 registration centres have been set up in Balochistan, nine in Azad Jammu Kashmir and eight in Gilgit Baltistan.
The organisers or caretakers of madrassas can receive registration forms from provincial or district offices.
