Discos losses rise to 38.55 ; recovery bar shows grim trend

According to the new figures showing performance of the electricity distribution companies, there is a constant rise in the Discos’ losses whereas its recovery rate is not promising, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The data which was released on Monday revealed that the losses of the Discos had reached 38.55%. During fiscal year 2020-21, the losses of Pesco peaked at 38.18%; Sepco 35.27%; Kesco 27.9%; Tesco 9.58%; Kepco 9.23%; and the losses of Iesco reached 8.54%.
On the other hand, during fiscal year 2020-21, the rate of recovery by the Kesco remained 39.80%; Sepco 64.68%; Hesco 75.63%; and the recovery rates of Iesco, Kepco, Mepco and Pesco remained 100%.
According to Nepra, the low rate of recovery was a major cause of ballooning circular debt.
