Students of Lyari Nursing College took to the streets against the former principal for making the institution a ‘stronghold of goons and gangsters’, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday
According to the protesters, ex-principal Shabana Baloch who was torturing the students has taken over the college even after being fired.
They alleged that she has been backing gangsters and providing a home to goons who have been restraining the students from entering the college.
Students set up a class at the main gate of Dow University of Health Sciences. As soon as the police reached the spot, the protesting student approached the court for help.
Jamaat-e-Islami MPA Abdul Rasheed joined the protesting students in solidarity.
Abdul Rasheed rapped authorities for turning blind eye to the issue, saying harassment of students is very dangerous.
Reportedly, the college administration has filed a baseless case against six students.
The students have made an appeal to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, health minister and senior minister Nasir Hussain Shah and lawmen to take notice of the matter.
