The Vehari police arrested the main suspect of a bank robbery in Karachi and recovered over Rs53 million with a huge quantity of drugs and weapons, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
District Police Officer (DPO)Isa Khan Sukhera said in a press conference that the van driver Rai Zohaib Hussain in connivance with the security guard Saqib Ali took the cash van from outside of Al-Meezan Bank of Industrial area Karachi.
He said that a special team was formed to trace and arrest the accused.
With the help of technology and human intelligence, not only the main accused was arrested but also recovered the looted amount from his possession, he added.
The DPO further revealed that a huge quantity of about 775 kg of hashish, 38 kg of opium, 34 kg of heroin and 36 thousand kg of cannabis were also recovered from the accused by the team participating in the operation.
