Punjab CM Maryam lays foundation of country’s first autism school

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has laid the foundation stone of Pakistan's first autism school in Lahore on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


Under the direction of Maryam Nawaz, the construction of the autism school will be completed in one year.


Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also ordered immediate hiring of autism experts and to prepare the project in consultation with autism experts.


Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also inspected the model of autism school and was briefed on autism school.


The Chief Minister was briefed that the first Autism School will consist of ground floor and first floor and about 11 classrooms will be constructed for junior section and 10 classrooms will be built for senior section.


For cubicle speech sessions, 10 classrooms will be created on the ground floor and therapy room, pads room and pre-vocational training room will be made.


Daily living activity room and computer room will be established and three classrooms, multi-purpose hall and committee room will also be established on the first floor.


Library, resource room and material development room will be established.


Autism School will have scope for building two more floors for future use.


Chief Minister said that a child with autism deserves compassion and love.
