Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the formation of a special security force to prevent encroachment on the land of Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) around River Ravi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Punjab CM was chairing special meeting on RUDA to review the completion of various ongoing projects.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered the concerned authorities to stop the illegal sale and purchase of land in area and it was also decided to seek cooperation with China and other international organizations for the completion of the scheme.
CEO RUDA Imran Amin gave a detailed briefing about various projects and Chief Minister was apprised that the forest area in RUDA has been increased from 20 percent to 35 percent. Senator Pervez Rasheed, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister for Information Azma Bukhari, Chief Secretary, Secretary Housing and other officials were also present.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister has launched Himat card for special persons, it will be used as a travel card from October 15.
She added that from 15th of this month, special persons will also be able to use Himmat Card as a travel card in Orange Line trains, metrobuses of Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi. She also announced the provision of hearing aids, wheelchairs and artificial limbs to special people.
CM Maryam Nawaz also announced to release 65,000 Himat cards and after obtaining the card, special people will not be a burden on the society and family members.
On the occasion, CM Maryam also took a group photo with the special persons on their request and the Chief Minister Sharif inspected the Hamat card registration desk. She told the special people that by writing to the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Professional Welfare Department, special persons can join the Himat card program. She said the amount of Rs10500 for 3 months is not too much, but special people will definitely be able to get some financial benefits.
