T20 Asia Cup: India post 182-run target for Pakistan

September 4, 2022 07:38 PM

India posted a target of 182 runs for Pakistan in the T20 Asia Cup 2022 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

India scored 181 for seven against Green Shirts in 20 overs. Virat Kohli made 60 runs for 44 balls, while KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma scored 56 runs.

Pakistani bowler Shadab Khan took two wickets for 31 runs.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first against rival India.

The Dubai stadium has a cricketing capacity of 25,000 while millions of fans across the globe are going to watch the game online.

Pakistani Squad:

Babar Azam (capt), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Shadab Khan, Asif Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain

Indian Squad:

Rohit Sharma (capt), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Hooda.

Statistics of previous matches:

Three of Rohit's eight T20I innings against Pakistan have seen him dismissed within the first two balls.

Pakistan have lost their last four Asia Cup matches, across formats, to India. On each of those four occasions, India batted second.

Of 14 completed games between the two sides in the tournament, India have won nine.

Pitch and conditions:

The temperature is expected to hit 40°C in the afternoon, and though it's supposed to drop down a few degrees by the time the game starts, oppressive heat will continue to be a factor at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Predictions:

International cricket pundits are considering both sides are capable of taking each other down.

Following the previous performances of both teams against each other, pundits are also considering Indian team better to Pakistan right now and predicting a win chances of Pakistan only 40 percent.
