The Islamabad High Court has issued a stern order for the immediate recovery of Faizan Usman, who has been missing, and has directed the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police to present him in court by tomorrow (Wednesday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.
The court has also instructed the identification of those responsible for Faizan Usman's disappearance. To assist in locating Faizan, the court has ordered the ISI Sector Commander to track Faizan's MacBook and mobile phone using the agency's surveillance system.
If Faizan is not recovered, the court has mandated that affidavits be submitted within seven days by the Secretary of Interior, the Defence Secretary, IG Islamabad, and the ISI Sector Commander.
The court has demanded these officials declare under oath whether they or their subordinates have any knowledge of Faizan's whereabouts.
The court further questioned IG Islamabad, asking him to justify why no action should be taken against him regarding enforced disappearances.
The court highlighted that Faizan Usman's case appears to be an enforced disappearance, a practice that the Supreme Court and High Courts have condemned as abhorrent and in need of eradication.
