The circuit bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday issued a contempt of court notice to Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah for not complying with the court orders and ordered him to either appear in the court on October 3 in person or file a reply through his counsel, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A divisional bench of the SHC, comprising Justice Arshad Hussain Khan and Justice Sana Akram Minhas, heard the contempt of court petition filed by Zameer Hussain Baladi, a former librarian of Mehran University, Jamshoro, against the CM for not giving an order for the release of his pension in compliance with the SHC orders.

In his petition, Baladi had stated that he had filed a plea against the university administration for not paying his pension.

“During the hearing, the court was told that the university administration was not authorized to order the payment of the amount, the petitioner had said, adding, “In fact, the court was informed that in this connection, an application had been forwarded to CM Murad.”

Baladi went on to say that the court had ordered the chief minister to give an order on his petition within 60 days.

But despite the passage of six months, the matter remained unresolved because the CM had failed to give any such orders.
