Parvez forms MPs squad for anti-virus war
Speaker wants Punjab Assembly activated to provide people with relief

Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi telephoned Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Hassan Murtaza and talked about his initiative to activate the house for the ongoing war on coronavirus.
He announced the formation of a committee comprising parliamentary leaders from all the parties to ensure public safety. The body will also play its role in making the harvesting season safe, the speaker shared with the PPP leader.
Hassan praised Parvez for taking the initiative as the head of an elected house, saying: “This is a good step. This committee will play a dynamic role in efforts to get over the coronavirus crisis.”
He continued: “In any crisis, the role of an elected assembly is of paramount importance. Parvez has always been an active politician to get the people out of such critical situations.”
Last month, the Punjab Assembly speaker deposited Rs25.6 million in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Reportedly, he has submitted his one month salary in the relief fund as well. He motivated the lawmakers to donate for the cause.
