The Lahore High Court (LHC) has confirmed pre-arrest bail of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader (PML-N) Rana Sanaullah in assets beyond means NAB case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Asjad Javed Ghural comprising bench confirmed the pre-arrest bail of the PML-N leader on Monday.
Rana Sanaullah appeared before the court along with his lawyer Amjad Pervaiz while NAB Special Prosecutor Syed Faisal Raza Bukhari also argued before the two-member bench of LHC.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has made the drugs smuggling case against Rana Sanullah in July 2019. NAB Prosecutor said assets beyond means case appeared before the NAB on June 24, 2019. Rana accused of owning agricultural land, a housing society and six luxury vehicles.
Justice Sardar Dogar inquired from the NAB prosecutor why NAB freeze all assets of Rana Sanaullah on the application of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) wen ANF itself did not include charges of freezing assets in the FIR and even court also did not order to freeze all assets of the accused.
Justice Dogar remarked that drugs are more important in the drugs smuggling case instead of accused assets.
NAB Special Prosecutor apprised the court that accused Rana Sanaullah got a salary of Rs10.27 million from 1990 to 2019 but he showed fewer assets in the ECP nomination papers.
NAB Prosecutor further said Rana Sanaullah bought a farmhouse in Rs0.5m and sold at Rs80m to the same party.
Amjad Pervaiz, lawyer of Rana Sanullah argued that ordering an inquiry against Rana Sanaullah by the NAB chairman was misuse of powers.
Talking outside the LHC, Rana Sanaullah said NAB did not prove even a single penny of corruption against him.
He said Shahbaz Sharif and Khawaja Asif are still in jail and country is burning in the fire of incumbent government’s revenge policies.
