The standing wheat crops spread over many acres of land were Tuesday submerged in water after the occurrence of a 40-foot breach in 3-R Canal in Bahawalnagar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Locals of the area expressed their concerns over the canal breach as they feared submerging of their houses by the canal water.
“Our crops have been damaged due to the negligence of the Irrigation Department,” farmers deplored.
On the other hand, the irrigation department claimed to have sent the machinery and the staff concerned to plug the canal breach.
