Personnel data including phone numbers of 50 million Facebook users from 106 countries were leaked in the recent hacking attempts and now IT experts in Pakistan advised users to take measures to secure their data on social networking websites, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Experts say the stolen data has been phenomenally used by telemarketing companies to sell products, however, hackers may open a bank account with the stolen data as well. Also, hackers may hack Twitter and Gmail accounts with the stolen data.

Pakistani IT expert Amir Atta said that through the website a Facebook user could able to know whether his data was leaked or not.

IT Expert Amir Atta said that there was a website www.haveibeenpwned.com/ that allows users to search across multiple data breaches to see if their email address or phone number has been compromised or not.
