The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) while accepting the resignation of Pakistan Muslim League-N MPA Faisal Niazi has released by-election schedule of PP-209 Khanewal, reported 24 News HD TV Channel Friday.

According to the notification, the polling in PP-209 will be held on October 2 and candidates can submit nomination papers from August 15 to 17.

The electoral symbols to the candidates will be allotted on September 1.

Faisal Niazi was elected on a PML-N ticket in the 2018 general election after the PTI refused to give him ticket.

He resigned before the polls for the chief minister on April 16 as he avoided voting for Hamza Shahbaz.

Soon after the acceptance of his resignation by Ch Pervaiz Elahi, then Speaker Punjab Assembly, Niazi joined the PTI.
