Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that Pemra Ordinance 2002 Amendment Bill has been tabled in the Senate after the National Assembly passed it, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to newsmen outside the Parliament House in Islamabad on Friday, the minister requested the Senate chairman to forward the PEMRA Ordinance 2002 Amendment Bill to Standing Committee concerned for further deliberations and recommendations of the Senators.
The minister said the Bill has been drafted after through consultations of over 14 months and contains opinions and inputs of all media organizations and Parliamentary Reporters Association.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said misinformation and disinformation have been defined and differentiated through new amendments.
Senate passes 11 bills
The Senate on Friday passed several bills.
