Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said that terrorists were attacking forces but unluckily some term it as a jihad, it is not jihad it is ignorance and government will end terrorism, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing an event in Peshawar to commemorate the services of martyred police officers and jawans, KP Chief Minister said that the government will provide all types of weapons and modern equipment to the police force against terrorism.
Gandapur saluted the police and army men who sacrificed their lives for the nation. He said, “our priority is to establish peace, we have given the best weapons and equipment to the police and we will give more weapons to police force”.
The Chief Minister said without restoring peace, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can not make progress. He said police force was making sacrifices in the war on terror. Now 20 percent amount of traffic challan payment will be spent for the welfare of the families of police martyrs.
Gandapur said, “we sometimes have arguments with police jawans on small issue. If someone is asking for ID at the check post, they are asking it for our security”.
KP Chief Minister claimed that “I am proud to be the Chief Minister of a province who has been on the front line against terrorism.”
He said, “We are safe today because of the sacrifices of the martyrs, therefore we have to give the greatest place to martyrs.” Gandapur said the merged districts are now a part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and government will provide equal facilities to all districts.
Addressing the event, KP Chief Secretary Nadeem Afzal said that despite the lack of arms and manpower, the police fought bravely in the province. He said that the lack of arms will be met and other facilities will be provided to the police. He said that in war against terrorism, the police were standing like a wall in front of the terrorists. He said that KP government will hopefully cooperate with the police in all possible ways to solve their problems.
He said Police did not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the defense of the country therefore we pay homage to the martyrs. IG Police said that from ordinary citizens to police officers, all made sacrifices in war against terrorism. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police did not leave a post or checkpoint empty even in difficult situations.
