Renowned Islamic scholar Allama Jawad Haider Zaidi was injured by the firing of dacoits in the Jafar Tayar area of Karachi on Monday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the unidentified dacoits shot him over the issue of resistance during the dacoity.
Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul Muslameen (MWM) spokesperson strongly condemned the incident and demanded the arrest of the culprits involved in violence against an Islamic scholar.
The MWM spokesperson said that the lives of the residents of the Malir area were not safe as it has become a stronghold of criminals.
The MWM spokesperson also urged the authorities to conduct a grand operation against street criminals in Malir.
