In an important development in ensuring the provision of life-saving drugs to people, the federal government has decided to start their registration on a priority basis, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Through their registration, the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) hopes to ensure the availability of medicines used for the treatment of cancer, sugar and epilepsy in the market.
The Authority also approved the registration of anesthesia and anti-influenza injections and vaccines.
On the other hand, Federal Minister for Health Dr. Nadeem Jan has said the government is taking steps to ensure the uninterrupted supply of life-saving drugs.
He has informed that the government plans to build a ‘Pharma Park’ in order to manufacture medicines locally and their sale.
He has further said that the government is taking concrete steps for the capacity building of pharma industry.
