A SpiceJet flight from Ahmedabad to Dubai had to make an emergency landing at Karachi Airport on Tuesday after a passenger suffered a sudden cardiac arrest, according to sources from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The captain of the Indian airline contacted the Karachi Air Traffic Control and requested permission to land after a 28-year-old male passenger on board experienced a heart attack.

The Karachi Air Traffic Control allowed the Indian Airlines plane to land at Karachi Airport and summoned a team of doctors to attend to the passenger.

However, the passenger could not be revived and was declared dead by the doctors. The plane resumed its flight to Dubai after completing the necessary formalities, the sources said.
