The betting mafia, at last, has been unearthed at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium when the authorities arrested a bookie and handed over to the FIA, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The bookie was arrested on Thursday, the first day of the five-day cricket Test being played between Pakistan and South Africa.

The man caught the PCB’s attention on the opening day of the Rawalpindi Test after he was spotted talking to someone on the phone continuously after tea when the match was suspended due to rain.

The bookie, whose name was told as Bilal, entered the stadium along with the DJ team.

Further investigation against Bilal, a resident of UAE, is under way.

According to another report, the bookie used DJ card to enter the ground from where he was taken into custody and handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The FIA was investigating the man for his alleged role as a bookie.

Last year, Umer Akmal was arrested after he did not inform the authorities about some “bookies” who tried to approach him before the start of the PSL.
