Warda Mohsin Naqvi, wife of Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, on Sunday inaugurated an art gallery at Lahore’s historic Nasir Bagh, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
On the first day after its inauguration, artworks by painter Imran Qureshi were arranged at the gallery named ‘The Barracks’, where there existed a bunker since 1948, but now it has been transformed into a gallery.
Warda watched the artworks with keen interest and praised the talent of Qureshi.
Speaking on the occasion, the painter said he was extremely pleased that he was the first artist whose creations were put on display at the gallery.
An art lover termed opening of the gallery a welcome step.
She was of the view that the gallery had enhanced the beauty of the Bagh.
PHA DG Tahir Wattoo said that the PHA played an important role in the restoration of the Bagh. “But the real credit goes to the present caretaker government,” he said.
