Seasoned politician and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Chairman Jahangir Khan Tareen said on Sunday that the three-time prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif would be the head of the PML-N, IPP’s coalition government that would be formed after the upcoming general elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing the party’s workers’ convention in Multan, Tareen said he would like to work under Nawaz after becoming part of the government. “Together we would work to strengthen the country’s economy,” he said, adding, “Be it the PML-N or the IPP; together we have to work for the country’s progress.”
IPP chairman expressed the hope that the country would progress under the leadership of Nawaz as millions of job opportunities would be created. “The first thing we will do after coming to power is to resurrect the economy. Because it is only in a strong economy that youth get jobs," he said, adding, “Our government will also increase people’s salaries.”
Tareen said today he was ecstatic to see the spirit of the people of Multan. “My parents belonged to this city. This is my ancestral city.”
He said he would like to come up to the expectations of the people of his constituency. “I am thankful to the Almighty Allah for whatever He has given to me. The purpose of my life is to serve the people,” IPP chairman said.
He prayed to the Almighty Allah to give PML-N, IPP partnership a ‘success’.
