Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Haji Ghulam Ali has summoned an important meeting of the Senate of Gomal University on January 9 to address the issue of political interference in the educational institutions and maltreatment of the teachers by the previous KP governor, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In the meeting, apart from other issues, biased and illegal actions such as the sending of Gomal University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Iftikhar on forced leave for the fourth time will be accounted for.
The meeting will also plan to remedy the irreparable damage caused to the academic environment and discipline due to political interference in the higher educational institutions.
In this important meeting of the Senate, the decisions of the Gomal University syndicate—which were bulldozed by the former acting KP governor in violation of the Gomal University Act, and it destroyed the reputation of the educational institution—will be ratified.
In the meeting, a mechanism will also be prepared to ensure the implementation of the decision of the university syndicate not to distribute the properties of Gomal University.
