Murree shuttle service that was launched by Capital Development Authority (CDA) could not be operational regularly and it was facing difficulties due to lack of cooperation from Punjab government, Murree administration and stubbornness of transporters, reported 24NewSHD TV channel on Thursday.
Only two buses could leave for Murree from Islamabad and could not make their way back to Barakahu due to transporters’ resistance. Even Murree administration was helpless in front of transporters.
The CDA fixed the fare to Murree at Rs100 per ride but local transporters were charging between Rs250-300 as the fare for Murree.
The passengers expressed their disappointment and said they had been sitting with tickets for two hours but the bus didn’t leave.
They lauded the initiative and urged the Punjab government to direct Murree administration to take action against the mafia.
