PCNS briefed on national security issues, talks with banned TTP

The in-camera meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) has been briefed on the national security issues and recent talks with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Saturday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, a declaration of the PCNS meeting has been issued here on Saturday which stated that the meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. 
While Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hameed Faiz and ISI Chief General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum briefed the participants about the progress of the talks with the banned TTP.
All three chiefs of services, heads of the security agencies, and the parliamentarians attended the meeting. The afghan situation was also discussed in the meeting.
It is stated in the declaration that Pakistan has made remarkable achievements against terrorism and extremism which have been recognized globally.
The meeting paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation and the security forces, the declaration said adding that the security forces also established state writ in all parts of the country.
The declaration further stated that under the Constitution of Pakistan, the use of force is the prerogative of the state only and the State of Pakistan was, is and will be the safeguard of the sacrifices of its martyrs and their families.
The meeting also paid rich tributes to the brave tribal people as the sacrifices and key support of the tribal led to peace and stability after severe hardships and sufferings, the declaration concluded.
