The issue of the participants in ICC annual meeting from Pakistan Tuesday got prolonged as the declaration about Zaka Ashraf and Salman Naseer was issued on the basis of a misunderstanding, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

It was stated that the announcement about Zaka Ashraf and Salman Naseer being approved for participation in the meeting in Durban and representing Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was made on the basis of a misunderstanding.

It was also stated that the former chair of the board Ashraf was not even taken into confidence before the announcement. Hence, it was deleted by PCB after being issued.

The previous members of the PCB management committee also gave a strong reaction to the news terming it illegal in the wake of the stay orders issued by different high courts of the country.

As of yet, no names have been nominated or announced for taking part in the meeting and the issue is now delayed.

Earlier, PCB issued a statement saying Acting Chair of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ahmed Shehzad Farooq Rana gave approval for PCB Board Member Zaka Ashraf and Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer to attend the International Cricket Council (ICC) annual meeting.

The meeting is due from the 9th to the 16th of July in Durban, South Africa.

Earlier, former PCB chairman Najam Sethi dropped out of the race for the PCB chief position. As of now, Zaka Ashraf is very likely to be crowned as PCB chair. However, his path has been restricted by legal challenges across the country.
