Self-claimed Pakistani singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan is facing legal consequences after receiving a defamation notice, claiming that he has damaged the reputation of the late musician Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

A lawsuit has been initiated against the social media personality, seeking damages of Rs180 million for purportedly degrading Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's legacy.

The notice was served to Chahat at his residence in the UK by Mian Muhammad Umair, representing Qaiser Munir Khan. It specifies a 15-day timeframe for Chahat to respond to the allegations.

Chahat has been accused in the notice of falsely suggesting a connection with the deceased artist and harming his reputation through his musical works. Furthermore, Chahat is alleged to have violated copyrights and offended the people of Faisalabad.

The residents of Faisalabad are reportedly upset by Chahat's singing, as mentioned in the document, which suggests that they are unhappy with how he is representing himself.

Additionally, the notice requires Chahat to publicly apologize on social media within a certain period. If he fails to do so, he may face a defamation lawsuit seeking Rs180 million in damages.
