30 employees of Senate, National Assembly test corona positive

The member of the Parliament should think twice if they want to visit any of the two houses as 30 employees of Senate and National Assembly have been tested positive, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As many as 110 employees of the parliament were tested on Thursday and out of them 30 cases have come positive. These also included employees from the office of Deputy Senate Chairman.
This development came at a time when the Senate and National Assembly members are gearing up for the all-important budget session. The Senate session is currently going on while the National Assembly session is scheduled to be held at 4 PM.
Earlier standard operating procedures (SOPs) were compiled by the lawmakers who were to attend the sessions to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. Under the SOPs, coronavirus tests have been made mandatory before coming to the sessions while the testing facility has been made available at the dispensary in Parliament Lodges as well. Moreover, seating arrangements have been made as per the SOPs of social distancing and viewer galleries can also be utilized if required.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan is witnessing a constant rise in the number of newly-infected corona cases as the total number has jumped to 89,249 after addition of another 4,896 during the past 24 hours.
