Budgetary allocations for federal ministries, divisions proposed

A number of proposals on budgetary allocations for the fiscal year 2020-21 were floated at a pre-budget meeting in Islamabad on Thursday.
According to the sources, it was proposed that volume of the federal development budget for the next fiscal year should be Rs536 billion. A block allocation was also proposed under the federal development budget. It was proposed that Rs783 should be allocated for the provinces as development budget, Rs370.7 billion for federal ministries and divisions, Rs145 billion for corporations, Rs110 billion for the National Highways Authority (NHA), Rs35 billion for NTDC and Pepco and Rs20 billion for other federal development projects.
It was proposed that Rs1.32 billion should be allocated for the Aviation Division, Rs80 million for the Investment Board, Rs37.52 billion for the Cabinet Division, Rs5 billion for the Climate Change Ministry, Rs103.5 million for the Trade Ministry and Rs377.5 million as development budget for the Ministry of Defence.
A development budget of Rs1.58 billion was proposed for the Defence Production Division, Rs4.51 billion for the Ministry of Education and Training, Rs50.47 billion for the Finance Ministry, Rs29 billion for NEC, Rs13.70 billion for the Interior Ministry, Rs44.84 billion for Kashmir Affairs, Rs12 billion for the Ministry of Food Security, Rs14 billion for development projects of the Health Ministry, Rs23 billion for the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission and Rs24 billion for the Pakistan Railways.
