Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas vowed that there would be no online examination this year and he would ensure it because online exams mean “cheating”.
Talking to a private TV channel, Dr Murad Raas said that last year there were no exams and students were promoted without having any exams.
Taking a strong position against the online exam, Murad Raas advised students to study and shun protests because they are wasting their time in protests on the roads.
He also urged parents to play their due role and tell their children about the importance of the on-campus exams.
The minister said that students will not be promoted without taking exams this year.
It has already been announced that all public and private schools of Punjab will be opened on Monday, 7th June, 2021.
“It will be a ‘Staggered’ approach. Our teams will be monitoring the situation very closely. Follow SOPs,” the education minister said.
He also tweeted, “I am proud to announce the first STEM competition in government schools. This intervention by us will improve engagement by students and teachers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects. All sessions will be broadcasted live on Facebook.”
