Noted writer Khalilur Rehman Qamar sticks to his guns over verbal clash with Marvi Sirmed during a TV talk show.

Speaking at 24News programme “10 Tak” on Wednesday night, Qamar said: “I won’t tender apology… She (Marvi) should apologise first.”

The duo has been showing their colours in social and mainstream media.

Sirmed too refused to budge

Sirmed said she felt no remorse over saying shut up to Khalil.

“The language he (Qamar) used in the talk show has no match across the world. Shut up can be said in response to his remarks. These words are not used in a civilised society,” said Sirmed during 24News programme.

She said he insulted the entire womenfolk. “Aurat March is not part of manifesto of any party,” she said, adding that court orders would be followed.

Clash

On Tuesday, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, well known for his recent hit drama serial Mere Pass Tum Ho, became embroiled in a heated argument with journalist Marvi Sirmed during a TV talk show.

The writer was on a talk show debating the consequences of the Lahore High Court’s decision to scrap the petition trying to block Aurat March 2020. He shared why he believes that slogans such as “mera jism meri marzi” trigger his fragile masculinity.

Speaking at the talk show, he said his heart breaks when people like Marvi Sirmed lift such slogans for Aurat March.

At this point, Marvi tried to taunt him by saying the words “mera jism meri marzi”, that unleashed the disgusting vitriol from the writer.
