Five members of a Hindu family found dead in Rahimyar Khan on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The dead included three children and their mother while the father, Ram Chand, was found in serious condition and was rushed to a hospital for treatment of his injuries but he could not survive.
Airport Police Station personnel have launched an investigation into the incident but so far could not elaborate the reasons for the deaths. However, Rescue 1122 officials said the killings were the result of a family dispute.
Ram Chand's sister said her brother was a tailor but had no work since last year and his wife also worked as a labour. They both had occasional arguments over her brother's not doing any work, she added.
The bodies were found at a house in Chak 135 and the injured Ram Chand was taken to Shaikh Zayed Hospital.
The dead children were identified as 12-year-old Prem Kumar, 10-year-old Anjali and four-year-old Aneeqa. The woman was named Lakshmi Mayi.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the incident.
Condemning the killings, the Punjab chief minister directed the concerned authorities to arrest the culprits as soon as possible.
