Federal ministers on Friday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and his entire cabinet fully respect all the state institutions including the Election Commission of Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The federal ministers said that it was inappropriate of the ECP to issue a rebuttal against Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement.
Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said Prime Minister Imran Khan and his party fully respect all the institutions. However, he said that the ECP should have demonstrated its independence and impartiality through acts instead of issuing press releases.
Addressing a joint news conference in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Information Shibli Faraz along with Chaudhry Fawad and Barrister Ali Zafar said the government had been pushing for transparent elections for the last several months.

They said that transparency in elections will enhance the prestige of the Parliament, and that elections are the foundation of democracy and transparent elections would further strengthen it.
Fawad said it is the joint responsibility of the government and the ECP to evolve a mechanism to ensure transparency in the polling process. He said transparency in elections is the pillar of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s policy.
Fawad said 177 members of National Assembly belonging to the PTI and allied parties have reached Islamabad and hopefully 179 MNAs will repose their trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Shibli Faraz said it is unfortunate that Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz nurtured the politics of money and corruption in Pakistan, which adversely affected morality of the nation.
He said recent Senate elections have vindicated our stance that horse-trading is undertaken in the polling process.
