Punjab Govt appoints eight additional advocate generals

The Punjab government has appointed eight lawyers as Additional Advocate General Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.   

In this regard, the Punjab Law Department issued a notification on Sunday after the approval of Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi. 

The lawyers appointed as Additional Advocate General include Chaudhry Muhammad Jawad Yaqub, Hasan Khalid Ranjha, Samia Khalid, Baligh-ul-Zaman Chaudhry, Wasim Majeed Malik, Muhammad Mumtaz Ali, Malik Waseem Mumtaz, and Qamar-Uz-Zaman Qureshi. 

Meanwhile, the Punjab government dismissed 14 law officers, including 8 additional and 6 acting advocate generals. 

After the approval of Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, the provincial law secretary de-notified the following officers. 

The lawyers who have been de-notified as Additional Advocate General are Amjad Ali Chatha, Zulfikar Ali Dhadi, Chaudhry Muhammad Ishaq and Syed Farhad Ali Tirmizi included.

Four additional advocate generals including Malik Wasim Mumtaz were dismissed and re-appointed as additional advocate generals of Punjab. 

Assistant Advocate General Jawad Ahmed, Hamad Randhawa, Samira Hussain, Hafiz Rehman Aziz, Syed Nadeem Abrar, and Sardar Tariq Anis have been relieved from their posts.
