CAA allows Thai Airways special flight to land at Lahore airport

The Civil Aviation Authority on Tuesday gave permission to Thai Airways to land at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore to repatriate Thailand diplomats and nationals stuck in Pakistan.

The permission was granted on the request of Royal Thai Embassy. Special flight No AIQ 97-86 will operate from Bangkok to Lahore. According to a CAA notification, the empty plane of Thai Airways will land at Allama Iqbal International Airport on May 6 and will leave for Bangkok carrying Thailand diplomats and other staff.

However, plane crew would not be allowed to step outside the plane during their stay at the airport, CAA said.

The international flight operations have been suspended till May 15 however special flights in and outside the country are being allowed as per the approval of CAA to bring back stranded Pakistanis.
