Police have arrested Zahir Jadoon and Saad Ameer Butt, two of the four persons nominated in the FIR registered of the murder of a girl in Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Lahore reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday while quoting its sources.   

Four suspects were nominated in the case, including 26-year-old deceased’s friends Zahir Jadoon, Saad Ameer Butt and two unknown accused.

The FIR of the incident registered on Tuesday reads that both Jadoon and Butt wanted to marry Maira Zulfiqar, and that since the latter had refused to marry both of them, she feared for her life. 

It further states that Maira lived in a rented house in Phase-V of DHA along with her friend Iqra, and that her family is living in the UK from where she had travelled to Lahore two months back.

Maira’s body, when examined, showed marks of torture as well as that of a bullet in her neck. 

Police say the hunt for the remaining two persons nominated in the FIR was on.  

Maira was murdered on Monday (May 3) morning when some people forced their way into her house, and shot her dead.  

Victim girl’s body has already been handed over to her family after the postmortem.
