Newly-appointed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi takes the oath of his office during a ceremony held at Governor House, Peshawar on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim administered the oath from the newly-appointed Governor. However, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur did not attend the ceremony.
Chief Secretary KP and other officials and party workers participated in the ceremony. During the ceremony, the PPP worked raised party slogans.
It is pertinent to mention that President Zardari had approved the appointment of Kundi as governor of KP earlier in the day. PPP loyalist, Kundi was picked amongst two other contenders and PPP leaders Zahir Shah and Syed Ali Shah Bacha.
Kundi currently holds the position of PPP’s central information secretary and is a member of the central executive committee.
He became a member of the National Assembly in the 2008 general elections and was then appointed as deputy speaker of the National Assembly.
Kundi remains vocal about infrastructure development, educational reforms and strongly believes in democracy, dialogue and policy reforms.
