Little girl killed in cop’s aerial firing at Karachi wedding

A wedding ceremony in Karachi turned into mourning on Thursday night as a 6-year-old girl was killed in an aerial firing opened by a policeman during the wedding ceremony in Qayyumabad area, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to details, Sadia, daughter of Hanif Ahmed, a resident of D Area, was hit in the head inside the house and was rushed to Jinnah Hospital in critical condition where she breathed her last.
According to police, the incident took place due to the celebratory firing at the marriage. Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot and arrested six persons including two brothers on the charge of resorting to firing, while the policeman fled the scene.
The accused who opened fire at the wedding party was identified as Moin, a cop stationed at Soldier Bazaar police station, while the police have already arrested his two brothers Arsalan and Noman.
The girl was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her wounds, said rescue sources, adding that she was hit by four stray bullets.
Police have registered a case against the policeman and his two brothers and others for firing on the complaint of the victim’s father.
