Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) provincial president Najamuddin Khan has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) through Barrister Adnan Saboor Rohaila against Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan and provincial ministers for violating ECP code of conduct.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, the PPP leader in his complaint said: “Chief Minister KP and provincial ministers are visiting constituencies even, after the release of local body election schedule in KP, added that ECP should ensure that the Chief Minister and Provincial Ministers do not visit the constituencies.”
The action should be taken against the Chief Minister and Provincial Ministers for violating the code of conduct, mentioned in the complaint.
It has been said in the complaint that, it is the responsibility of the ECP to hold clean and transparent elections, the PPP leader said.
Chief Minister and provincial ministers should also be barred from holding corner meetings and gatherings, further stated in the complaint.
Moreover, polling for the first round of local government elections in KP will take place on December 19.
