The federal government Saturday suspended Chief City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, Mr Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, a BS-21 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, presently serving under the Government of Punjab, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect and till further orders.
The federal government wanted to remove the CCPO Lahore for a long time but Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi refused to relieve his services to the federal government.
The Punjab government defied the order of the federal government thrice before the federal government took the initiative to suspend the top cop.
