The Pakistan Cricket Board interim management committee led by Zaka Ashraf has been given an extension of three months, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
A decision to this effect was taken by a meeting of the caretaker federal cabinet held in Islamabad on Saturday.
Interim Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar presided over the meeting. The PM who is also the patron of the PCB has already stated that no big decision was in store and matters regarding the committee would be decided at the end of the ongoing World Cup in India.
It effectively means that the Zaka-led interim management committee, whose tenure was due to come to an end on Sunday will be stayed till February 5.
After the approval of the Cabinet, a notification for the extension of the tenure of the PCB Management Committee has been issued.
The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination issued the notification.
PCB Management Committee will conduct elections for the Board of Governors and Chairman, notification adds.
The PCB Management Committee will handle the day-to-day affairs of the board and will not be able to make policy decisions, the notification said
