Ruckus and sloganeering by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers led to the prorogation of the National Assembly session for indefinite period on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Independent MNA Aurangzeb Khan Khichi was speaking on a point of order when PTI legislators started sloganeering which compelled the deputy speaker to read the prorogation order signed by the president.

Earlier, speaking in the House, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi clarified that he did not receive a single penny from anyone. He claimed the forward bloc was on the cards in the PTI on that day which he foiled, and the time would prove it.

He went on to say that although PTI was a big party, its candidate always bagged hardly 2,500 votes against him during the elections.

He returned to the House through securing over 90,000 votes.

Ministers' absence

The National Assembly session commenced under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah.

Soon after the recitation of Holy Quraan and Naat, the House adopted the agenda of the day and addressed the call attention notice.

However, the session took a serious turn when it was noted that no federal ministers were present to respond to the call attention notice.

Deputy Speaker Shah expressed his concern over this absence, noting that although someone from the government was expected to respond, all federal ministers were absent from the House.

The deputy speaker took strong notice of the ministers' absence, underscoring the importance of their presence to address the agenda items raised by assembly members.
