A traffic police inspector was killed in an accident near Sukh Nehr Chowk in Lahore on Tuesday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to reports, Awais Khan was returning home after performing his duty when he was hit by a tractor-trolley, which eventually ran over him.
He was shifted to Shalimar Hospital where he breathed his last.
Driver of the tractor-trolley, however, managed to flee from the spot, while soon after learning about the incident, senior traffic police officials rushed to the hospital to inquire after their injured colleague.
On the other hand, CTO Lahore Ammara Tahir, while expressing deep grief and shock over the incident, said that the deceased was an extremely honest and hardworking officer.
