The Pakistan Democratic Movement on Monday revised its schedule of public gatherings across the country.
PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal announced the new schedule of the rallies after attending the steering committee meeting of the PDM. According to the new plan, the first rally of PDM will be held in Gujranwala on October 16; the second gathering will be held in Karachi on October 18; the next public gathering will be held in Quetta on October 25; another public gathering of PDM will be held in Peshawar on November 22; next rally will be held in Multan on November 30; another public gathering will be held in Lahore on December 12 and last meeting will be held in Larkana on December 27.
Ahsan announced that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was elected as general secretary of PDM. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was elected as senior vice president and Iftikhar Hussain was elected as secretary information.
Former prime minister and PDM senior vice president Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that programme has been finalised to strengthen public contact campaign. The aim of the PDM is to represent the public in true manner. People are suffering due to price hike and unemployment in the country, he added.
Ex-PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the selected government had ruined the national economy. We will give relief to the public. We will not let misappropriate tax payers’ money, he added.
Senator Abdul Ghafoor Haideri condemned the media censorship. He said that the industrial sector had been destroyed by the incompetent government.
Iftikhar Hussain sought the help of media in this new campaign against the incumbent government.
