Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Syed Mohsin Naqvi, on the eve of World Teachers’ Day on Thursday, visited his alma mater Crescent Model School in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the visit, he met with his teachers and said they had played an important role in his upbringing and grooming. “Whatever I am today is because of you,” he said to them.

He said that the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the greatest preacher and teacher.

The chief minister recalled that he had visited the school right after taking office, and the memories of that visit were still etched in his mind.

Calling teachers an asset for a nation and its benefactor, he said that both parents and teachers played an equal role in the character-building of pupils.

Similarly, he went on to say, that teacher’s role in the society’s progress could not be ignored either.

CM Naqvi said only those nations progressed in modern times which had access to quality education. “Today we have to renew our pledge that we will have to ensure respect for teachers,” he concluded.
