The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi appeared before the Official Secret Act Court in Adiala Jail on Wednesday, where they are facing charges of leaking sensitive information.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the hearing was held in-camera and lasted for about an hour. Later, the court adjourned the case till October 9 at the request of the defence lawyers.
According to the sources, this was the first time that the PTI Chairman and Vice Chairman met since their arrest and exchanged whispers for some time behind bars in the courtroom.
The sources said PTI Chairman Imran Khan did not complain about the facilities in the jail and looked normal, though he had lost some weight. His lawyers also spoke to him and shook hands with him, the sources added.
During the hearing, the prosecution filed applications for an in-camera hearing and an early trial, claiming that the case involved national security matters.
The defence lawyers opposed the applications and argued that the case was politically motivated and based on fabricated evidence.
