The top cop of the federal capital has reiterated his resolve to maintain law and order at all costs.
“We are determined to deal with the miscreants,” the Islamabad police chief said in an exclusive conversation.
The Pak Army troops also arrived at D Chowk, he said adding that any bid to disrupt law and order will be thwarted.
He went on: “Many arrests were made and those who took the law into their own hands were arrested.
“The interior minister also explained his strategy this morning and requested to put off the protest in the wake of the upcoming event in the federal capital.
“Section 144 is in force at D Chowk. We are following the law. the situation is under control.
“D-Chowk is a prohibited area. No protest can be held here. Lawlessness will not be tolerated at all.
“Where the rioters took the law into their hands, arrests were made according to the law. Arrests were made at G13, Faizabad, China Chowk etc.”
