Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has directed to prepare restructuring plan of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and forward it to the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) as soon as soon, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The PM chaired a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday of high-ranking PIA officers and was given a briefing regarding performance of the national carrier.

Addressing the meeting, the prime minister said that steps should be taken to further improve the air connectivity of remote areas with other cities of the country.

The Caretaker PM further instructed that timing schedule of PIA flights should be according to the convenience of the passengers.

PIA is an important national institute which provided the best services in past and earned good reputation worldwide he said adding that PIA management and Aviation Division will work day and night for restoring its reputation and making it the best institution.

Earlier, he was briefed that after the recent amendment in PIA Act 2016 the way of restructuring of PIA has been developed.

The meeting was attended by caretaker federal Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Advisor to PM on Aviation Air Marshal (R) Farhat Hussain, Advisor to PM Ahad Cheema and other concerned government officers.
