A jawan of Pakistan Rangers, who had been injured by dacoits in Islamabad, passed away at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The dacoits had injured the personnel in the jurisdiction of I-9 police station of the federal capital by repeatedly attacking him with a dagger when he offered resistance to them before opening fire at him.
The dacoits even took away with them goods worth millions of rupees which the personnel had purchased for the wedding of his young brother.
The incident had taken place at IJP Road of Islamabad on September 1.
