The Sialkot police have recovered a six-year-old Brazilian girl and handed her over to the Brazilian Embassy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The Brazilian girl was brought to Pakistan by her father after he split up with his Brazilian partner in Europe.

Abdul Rehman, r/o Majra Kalan, went to Europe illegally 13 years ago where he indulged in a relationship with a Brazilian woman and as a result Megan Burgess was born.

According to police, Abdul Rehman got separated from his Brazilian partner five years ago.

According to local laws, the girl lived with her mother for 5 days a week and with her father for 2 days, and on August 20, 2023, Abdul Rahman took the girl away from her mother permanently. He came to Pakistan with Megan Burgess.

Police said that the father left the girl with her parents in Majra Kalan Tehsil Sambarial and went back to Germany on August 27.

On August 25, Abdul Rahman told the girl's mother over the phone that someone had abducted the girl from the park.

In order to give true colour to the story, Abdul Rehman filed a case 4297/23 BJRM 363 TP on August 26 in Factory Area police station, district Sheikhupura.

The girl’s mother informed the Brazilian Embassy in Munich, Germany, about the abduction of her daughter in Pakistan.

The German Embassy sent an e-mail request to the Brazilian Embassy in Islamabad to recover the girl, on which the Deputy Head of Mission of the Brazilian Embassy wrote a letter to DPO Sialkot about the recovery of the girl.

DPO Sialkot Muhammad Hasan Iqbal issued orders to DSP Sambarial and SHO Airport police station to ensure the recovery of the girl.

The police team along with the Consular Officer of Brazil Embassy Islamabad recovered the girl from Abdul Rehman's father's house and handed her over to the Brazilian Embassy.
